New Years Greeting from Chairman Peter Roland

Dear Members,

I wish you and your Families a very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year.

With a new year comes a fresh start and new motivation.

We look to 2023, the Year of the Rabbit, with a full program of exciting events for the business community, that we hope you will attend and support, now that the last years of Covid-19 soon will be a closed chapter. As worldwide borders continue to open up, we realize that global community and collaboration is the way forward, which is why we will see more joint events with our Nordic Neighbours. At DCCJ, our target is to provide event dates as early as possible, so that we can secure your valuable time in these continuously busy times.

Reflecting on 2022, I can truly say it was a good year for DCCJ. Events came into full swing again with strong attendance given the circumstances, and consisted of a good mixture of valuable seminars and successful, social networking events. We also saw the first official visits from Denmark recommence and welcomed the delegations to Japan. And finally Japan opened up the country’s borders in October to all visitors. I see 2022 as a trial year of what is to come and what we can continue to build on in 2023.

The Rabbit is a symbol of fortune, progress and savvy and is known as an animal of luck to the world. In Japan rabbits also represent moving forward and at DCCJ we will do just that, while continuing to build on the positive trends from 2022.

We will aim to continue to deliver valuable events to our members and the business community in Japan. That is why we wish to ask you to give your constructive feedback on how we can create events that fit your business' needs. We will be doing an online survey, which I hope you will take time to fill out and give us your suggestions on how we can improve. You can find the survey here. We thank you in advance for your valuable time.

Finally, I am very happy to welcome Josefine Praestekjaer onboard as interim Executive Director. Josefine is off to a good start and I am utmost impressed with her efforts. I know her door is always open, as is mine, so please feel free to contact us anytime.

Thank you for your support and patronage.

With Kind Regards

Peter Roland

Chairman
