The Mercedes-Benz – Thomson Reuters Cup

We are pleased to announce that the 18th North America - Europe Golf Challenge in Japan - the Mercedes-Benz – Thomson Reuters Cup - will be played on Friday, 14 October, at the same venue as in previous years, the Atsugi Kokusai Country Club in Kanagawa Prefecture. 

The organizing Task Force with title sponsors Mercedes-Benz Japan and Thomson Reuters Japan are working hard also this year to make the event a memorable one for all participants.  

This is an event jointly organized by the European Business Council, the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan and Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Japan.

Registration:

The registration for the event has now been opened. The 3,000 yen player registration fee is non-refundable and has to be paid within one week of your registration. The remaining participation fee is 22,500 yen and is to be paid directly to the Club after play. The total fee of 25,500 yen covers the green fee, caddie, lunch, beverages and buffet at the awards reception. The event has been fully book well in advance in previous years, so we strongly encourage you to sign-up as early as possible as we expect this year’s event to be fully booked before the registration dead-line (20 September). Note that bus transportation is free for the 40 first to sign-up for it.  

Sponsoring the event:

The Mercedes-Benz – Thomson Reuters Cup is a high-value sponsorship opportunity. If you want to promote your company, including having your logo on the tournament website with a link to your webpage, please sign-up as a sponsor. Sponsors who sign-up now will get exposure on the tournament website until the site is refreshed for the 2023 tournament. Sponsors will be included in printed and branded materials, including posters, as well as at the award/prize reception after play and at the After-Party. Your contribution could be either money or goods/services. Sponsorship starts from 40,000 yen (100,000 yen in goods/services). For more details, see the web site. 

We see our tournament as a great chance and timing for many to reach out to new partners, as well as connecting with many new colleagues who have started in their positions during the past two years. In the age of online and hybrid formats, we believe that being physically visible at events such as golf will have even stronger impact than ever before.  

Charity:

Surplus from the event, including most of the cash sponsorship, will be donated to charity along with the presently established charity fundraising activities.
