The Danish Chamber of Commerce in Japan (DCCJ) is seeking a dynamic and multilingual professional to join our team as Executive Director.
This full-time position is pivotal in growing and supporting DCCJ’s mission to strengthen the Danish business community in Japan and offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of sectors, companies, and business networks.
About DCCJ
The DCCJ is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering networking and knowledge sharing among Danish businesses in Japan. Established in the 1950s, we collaborate closely with key partners including the Royal Danish Embassy, the European Business Council, and other Chambers of Commerce to grow and support the Danish business presence in Japan.
Job Description
As Executive Director, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of DCCJ. This is a highly versatile role, offering the opportunity to engage with companies and professionals across different sectors.
You will report directly to the DCCJ Board of Directors and Chairman.
Key responsibilities include:
Organizing engaging Chamber events and coordinating with relevant speakers
Promoting Chamber activities through emails, newsletters, website updates, and social media
Managing communication with existing and prospective members, partners, and stakeholders
Working closely with the DCCJ Board of Directors and Chairman on policy and activities
Managing the overall day-to-day operations of the Chamber
Job Requirements
Experience from international business with focus on Europe/Scandinavia
Language Skills
Proficiency in English and Japanese is essential
Knowledge of Danish will be considered an advantage
Personality
Outgoing, detail-oriented, and flexible
Proactive and willing to take on new challenges
Able to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
Communication
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
IT Skills
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 , presentations, and document management
Quick to learn new software, including website and newsletter tools
Social media skills are a plus
