We are pleased to announce that Claus Eilersen, DCCJ Board Member, has been appointed DCCJ Denmark Representative, where he will lead efforts for Overseas Member Engagement and help further DCCJ’s mission of connecting Japanese and Danish business communities worldwide.
Claus is a seasoned senior executive with extensive international business and leadership experience, particularly between Denmark and Japan. As investor and executive advisor, as well as former Representative Director of Amicus Therapeutics Japan and former Senior Vice President of Novo Nordisk Japan & Korea, he has spent many years in strategic leadership roles within the pharmaceutical industry. Before moving into advisory and investment roles, Claus led teams and operations in Japan, North America, and Europe, developing cross-cultural business expertise and a trusted reputation.
With a relationship-focused approach and strategic outlook, Claus appreciates meaningful settings where professionals can connect, exchange insights, and explore new business opportunities — values that are at the core of DCCJ.
In his new role, he will spearhead initiatives to enhance engagement and strengthen the DCCJ network for overseas members, including the launch of the DCCJ Global Luncheon held twice per year in Copenhagen, Denmark.
To offer a personal introduction, we asked Claus a few questions about his new role:

What motivated you to take on the role as DCCJ Denmark Representative?
“I see great potential in further strengthening the bridge between Denmark and Japan. DCCJ plays an important role in connecting professionals across borders, and I am keen to contribute to this purpose — particularly for members based outside Japan.”
What is your vision for overseas member engagement in Denmark?
“My aim is to create opportunities for members to meet in person, build trust, and identify concrete collaboration opportunities. Strong personal networks are as important as ever.”
What can members expect from the DCCJ Global Luncheon in Copenhagen?
“A professional but informal setting where overseas members, Denmark-based professionals, and visiting Japan-based members can connect. The goal is to provide a framework for valuable conversations that can lead to long-term relationships and business development, reinforcing DCCJ’s mission of fostering cross-border collaboration.”
Through the bi-annual DCCJ Global Luncheon, Claus will provide overseas members with increased access to in-person networking, facilitate relationship-building, and support Danish companies seeking insights into the Japanese market — further enhancing the overall value of DCCJ membership and strengthening the DCCJ community both in Denmark and Japan.
Please join us in congratulating Claus on his new appointment. We look forward to seeing this initiative grow under his leadership and to the continued expansion of DCCJ’s global network.
