Danish Days In Daikanyama

Updated: Oct 21, 2022

Come experience the taste of Denmark during Sarugaku Matsuri!

On November 5th and 6th the Royal Danish Embassy will open its courtyard to the public.

Get your taste buds ready for some organic and sustainable food delights from Denmark!

Sarugaku Matsuri has been conducted for a total of 18 years although the last couple of years with significant restrictions due to Covid-19.

The Royal Danish Embassy has participated numerous times, but this year will be very special since a large number of Danish food companies will join what we call DANISH DAYS IN DAIKANYAMA.

The embassy courtyard will transformed into a Danish food showcase for all to enjoy and the courtyard open on Saturday November 5th and Sunday November 6th both days between 11:00 and 18:00.

The participating companies will both sample and sell products and you will have a chance to try some very unique products, many of which are organic, especially imported for this event and we guarantee you that there is something for everyone. There will be seafood, pig meat, poultry, bread and cheeses for all to enjoy. Also ice pops, butter cookies, energy bars and Danish pastry for the ones with a sweet tooth and for the slightly older crowd will be able to enjoy beer, organic vodka, whisky, gin tonic and a very exclusive cherry wine from Denmark. Oh, and don’t forget to try our classic Danish hot dog and even the speciality “grill medister”, a.k.a. a “ big bad boy” served with one or two hot dog buns and compliments according to your taste. Hot dogs are sold, but a share of the sale goes to support Ukraine, so remember “the more you eat the more you support”. Finally we will have a selection of high quality outdoor products from Denmark.

Access to the courtyard is free of charge so come and be surprised and inspired by the great and sustainable food products from Denmark.

Even access to Ambassador’s residence is open for smaller groups at a time, so if you are curious please come and join one of the tours.

On behalf of the participating Danish companies and the Royal Danish Embassy we look very much forward to seeing you there.

Participating companies include DCCJ members Danish Crown and Royal Greenland.
