About The Event
On behalf of the Directorate General for Communications Networks, Content & Technology (DG CONNECT) and the Japanese government, we at DCCJ would like to invite you to participate in the 9th EU-Japan Digital Strategies Workshop, which takes place on the 11th of December, 2019, in Tokyo.
The 9th EU-Japan Digital Strategies Workshop is taking place back-to-back with DG CONNECT Dialogues with the Japanese Ministries MIC and METI. After several workshops held since 2015, they will cover a series of topics in the EU's Digital Single Market strategy (DSM) and the Japanese Society 5.0 initiative.
The next workshop on the 11th of December 2019, co-chaired on the European Commission side by Director Gerard de Graaf, will provide an excellent opportunity for European and Japanese industries and stakeholders to present their viewpoints to public authorities in charge of digital policy in the EU and in Japan ahead of their government-to-government dialogues on 12 and 13 December 2019.
The Workshop aims in particular at exchanging views and deepening the cooperation on topics related to AI, Cybersecurity, Trust Service, Digital Policies, 5G, IoT Standardization and Data Economy. Our Japanese colleagues will be represented by the administration (Ministry of Internal Affairs & Communications (MIC), Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Cabinet Office, and by industry (delegation led by Keidanren).
Contact Lee Woolgar (Lee.WOOLGAR@eeas.europa.eu) if your organisation would be interested in intervening at the workshop by way of a presentation or oral remarks, on any of the agenda items. Upon request, it is possible to add specific items to the agenda, subject to agreement with the Japanese co-organisers.
