Chief Representative Beijing and Country Manager Greater China Danske Bank A/S, to a webinar for our members and partners. 

As a part of our collaboration with the other Danish Chamber of Commerce in Asia, we are once again happy to invite our great friends to the west, the Danish Chamber of Commerce China (DCCC), to an online event. 

We invite to an open dialog and exchange in information foreshadowing what we can expect in the post Covid-19, with the Chairman of DCCC and Chief representtive Beijing and Great China, Danske Bank A/S, Mr. Mathias Boyer.

About the speaker: 

Mathias is currently the Chief Representative of Danske Bank A/S Beijing Representative Office and Country Manager for Greater China. Danske Bank is the largest bank in Denmark and second largest in the Nordic region (globally ranked 72nd on tier II capital according to the Bankers Magazine) and currently has approximately 20,000 employees worldwide. As ChiefRepresentative, Mathias’ responsibilities include managing the bank’s relationships in China across financial institutions and the regulators, as well as the bank’s clients in the region. Mathias is also responsible for leading and executing Danske Bank’s strategy in Greater China.

Prior to Danske Bank, Mathias was a Senior Investment Manager for IFU (Investment Fund for Developing Countries), the Danish sovereign investment fund, based in Shanghai working out of the organization’s Greater China Regional Office. IFU has invested in more than 1,200 companies in 100 countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America and parts of Europe totaling DKK 19 billion. Mathias was responsible for IFU’s investments in Greater China and Mongolia.

Before joining IFU, Mathias was the Chief Representative and Senior Investment Manager of CSR Capital, which he was one of the founding members. The fund was focused on investments in China, Africa, India, and Denmark and backed by the founder of Bestseller Group, a family- owned clothing company based in Denmark with 100,000 employees worldwide.

Mathias graduated from the University of London, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) with a bachelor’s degree in Politics and has previously studied at Peking University, Copenhagen Business School, Copenhagen University, and AVT Business School in Copenhagen for various certificates and executive training.

Over his career, Mathias has sat on the boards of 16 companies, four of which were Sino-Danish Joint-Ventures where he also acted as Vice Chairman. He currently is the Chairman of the Danish Chamber of Commerce China (DCCC) (North China), member of the executive board of VL100, a group established for Danish executives in North China, and on executive committee of the board of trustees at the International School of Beijing (China ́s oldest and most acclaimed International School).
